The Dyno

To the dyno (41k)

On Saturday morning (June 30), the group headed out to TMW Chassis Dyno services in Morris IL.

Wires everywhere (24k)Nitrous hardware (27k)

We met Wally at the dyno, who was already in the process of tuning his SC2 with a Venom computerized Nitrous system.  Wally was able to coax more than 140 hp (to the ground) from the motor, even though he was having difficulty getting the system to function correctly.

Many of us spend quite a bit of time at the dyno.  In addition to reporting real horsepower and torque numbers for the car, we're able to track how changes to the car affect the numbers from one session to the next.

Kevin K's SC1 (28k)Ben P helping out (20k)

Everyone lended a hand to help strap down the cars and keep things moving.  After all, we had a whole lot of cars to run through in one afternoon.  Above you can see Kevin K's SC1, and Ben P enjoying the fumes.

Mike N on the dyno.
Damn Mike, flog that thing!

It was Mike N's first time on a dyno, and he really enjoyed forcefully rowing the car through the gears on his multi-gear pass (a little too much, in fact).
