The 2004 SPC Rally

On the road to South Haven, MI

The 75 mph atlas relay pass.  Our time spent on the road is always interesting.

After arriving at our hotel in South Haven, MI, and having grabbed something to eat, we enjoyed a presentation held by Chris Berube.

In addition to driving the club's SC2 to victory last season in SCCA club racing (see details on the car and season HERE), Chris also  works in General Motors High Performance Vehicle Operations center.  He had a lot to do with the development of the Ion Red Line, as well as the Cadillac CTS-V and upcoming Cobalt SS model also.

Chris's presentation gave us an idea of what goes into high-performance vehicle development at GM.  We saw some cool video footage of testing on Germany's Nurburgring, and were also able to give our feedback, opinions, and suggestions on current & future vehicles.  It's not often that the average person's thoughts will make their way back to GM's engineers, so we were sure to take advantage of the opportunity.
