Chicago Auto Show '05

Chrysler had an impressive indoor "test" track set up for their cars and trucks.  There was a long wait to get a ride on the track, even though people could ride along as passengers only and vehicle speed was limited to only a few miles per hour.

International's new trucks were huge.  I mean HUGE.  I can't even imagine what the mileage must be on them.

Look at the size compared to the guy on the right edge of the photo.  The top of an average person's head was right in line with the top of the hood.

This Lexus was one of the most beautiful cars at the show.  It's lines were something to behold.

This is the Ford Fairlane.  While the Fairlane of past was a classic car, I don't know what this could be considered.

It's a shame that manufacturers are recycling model names but not being true to the original.  I'm reminded of what Pontiac did  in the late 80s when they reincarnated the 60's LeMans muscle car into a subcompact hatchback.

We always try to get to the show early because by the afternoon, the place is packed.  This year, we were able to buy tickets online and bypass the long lines to the ticket counter.
