HEY! If you like my site, even just a little bit, please sign the guestbook and introduce yourself. I don't put all this stuff out here for myself to look at, ya know.
12/31/08 - I received an e-mail a while back from The Agility Corporation. They make an incredible looking coilover suspension setup for S-Series cars. Added a link to their site to my suspension page.
8/28/08 - A sad day had come - the '92 SC was transitioned to its new owner. Since his first time in the driver's seat of the car ended up being during an autocross, I knew I'd found the right person. Read more about why it was sold, the new owner, and the autocross event HERE.
7/5/08 - The Hotshot header on my '94 recently cracked (again) and rusted through the flexpipe. An OEM header (blasted and powdercoated) replaced it, just like I have been running on my '92 with excellent results. Added another picture of how bad the peeling has become on the '92's header which was HP coated. Updated the S-Series wheels page with the weight on #8.
2/8/08 - A handful of Saturn Performance Club members got together recently for the Chicago Auto Show. Added links to the event archive for Kevin K's write-up and photos from the event. Thanks Kev!
12/15/07 - Added photos and video from the 2007 SPC Rally to my in action page. Updated the 2006/2007 project log and Results pages for the '92 SC. Pulled all the dead links off of the Saturn links page and Performance & Aftermarket parts page and added some new ones. Added a link to a new supplier of custom fabricated strut housings to the suspension page. Finally replaced the Blizzak WS-15 snow tires I'd had on the car for the last 9 years with a new set of Blizzak WS-60 (you can see my writeup on the WS-60 HERE). Cleaned up the Tech Info page and got rid of all the dead links.
8/9/07 - Had to make room in the garage lately for a new addition. Bought a 2007 Ariel Atom and my website for it is HERE.
6/4/07 - The story, photos, and video from the Saturn Performance Club's 2007 Rally are now posted. This was the club's tenth annual Rally and we had an enjoyable and exciting week! Also added some info on parts: Be Cool now offers a better radiator for Saturn S-Series and the info has been added to my Fluidyne radiator install page.
3/12/07 - Added photos and video from the Saturn Performance Club's get together for the Chicago Autoshow on 2/16/2007.
3/8/07 - Hub bore listed on the wheels page was incorrect - fixed it.
12/31/06 - It's something I've been working on in my spare time over the past year-and-a-half, and the reason that updates to the site have slowed down during that time. Read about my forced induction adventure and how it came to a surprising result in the projects section. Added some photos of wear over time on the Vitek plug wires and conical air filter, and added some new parts to the '94: an SC1 trunk panel and tinted tail lights.
11/19/06 - Added video and photos from 2006 SPC Rally events to my in action page, updated the about the author photos on the About this Site page. Updated several areas of the modifications section for the '94: tail light blackouts, Hotshot header, conical air filter, Toyo T1-S tires, and wheel bearings. Replaced the tires on my '94 with a set of Kumho Ecsta 711 for the street. Relocated the '92's battery to the trunk for better balance and weight distribution. Burned through another set of Kumho Victoracers and replaced them on the '92. Updated the '92's results page with thoughts on the car's performance during the track events I attended in 2006. Also updated the 2006 project log with the reason why the website's project log has been a little thin recently
8/15/06 - The story, photos, and video from the Saturn Performance Club's 2006 Rally are now posted. It was the club's ninth annual event, and we had a great time.
5/16/06 - Posted some numbers which show that my weight-reduction efforts have been worthwhile - the car was finally put on the scales. Pulled more weight out of the '92 - swapped the bumper support, removed more metal from the headlamp brackets, cut the trunk lid in half, and removed the trunk hinge mechanism. Also updated my wanted items.
5/9/06 - Updated the motor mount tech info pages, adding photos of SRW's ETTL and a broken timing cover. Also carefully calculated the weight of the rollcage in the '92, and posted details on the fuel injector test & cleaning service that I had done. Linked some in-car videos from the 2005 SPC Rally to my in action page.
5/7/06 - Added photos and video from the SPC's Dyno event on 4/29/2006. Saw an Ion Red Line with a factory stage 1 package put down 259 horsepower, and witnessed a Neon SRT breathe fire. It was a great time.
4/11/06 - Woohoo!! A link from my site gets mentioned in the 3/27/2006 Autoweek magazine issue, in the "But wait, there's more" section. You can see a PDF of the page on their site HERE. It's in the area titled "Hyperventilating hyperlink".
Motor mount tech info, as well as my thoughts and measurements of how a few aftermarket models perform, can now be found in the projects section.
Just a note, but it needs to be said every so-often - I haven't been making updates to my site very often recently. Just because nothing new shows up in a while doesn't mean I'm piloting my couch. When faced with the decision to spend time working on / enjoying the car, or spend time writing about it, you can probably guess which I'll choose. :)
2/26/06 - Added photos and video from the SPC's 2006 Chicago Autoshow weekend.
11/13/05 - Wrote the closing chapter and final results (see page 2) on the Venom VCN-1000 nitrous kit.
10/16/05 - Updated the results page with thoughts on the car's performance during the track events at the 2005 SPC Rally, as well as a lapping event at USA International Raceway on 10/9/2005. Added in-car video to the in action page from the USA International Raceway lapping event . Added recent thoughts on the now badly-rusted Hotshot Header on my '94. Found a much lighter weight air intake for my '92. Added a summary paragraph on installation of the nitrous systems (detailed in the projects section) to the modifications section. Got rid of a lot of dead links on the owners' page and reorganized it. Added much of what I've been doing recently to the 2005 project log.
8/8/05 - The story, photos, and video from the Saturn Performance Club's 2005 Rally are now posted. Just when I think the rally can't get any better from the previous year, it does. Also added a few significant items to the projects section. You may have noticed fewer site updates recently - well, that's where my time has been going. Take a look, you won't be disappointed.
6/16/05 - Added results of the latest round of dyno testing on the '92 SC.
3/26/05 - Re-did the introductory page for the '92 SC, including before and after photos showing just how far it has come. Added recent thoughts on all the prep that went into the Lexan windows, the handling effects of the 4-way rear bar, the wear pattern of the Mickey Thompson drag slicks, and the feel of the modified shifter. Added a pic of the HP coated header peeling, and the Accel fuel pressure gauge.
3/19/05 - Added photos and video from the SPC's Chicago Autoshow weekend.
Added my thoughts from all the events I'd done with my '92 SC in 2004 to my results page, added photos from painting the rollcage to the rollcage page. Lots of new large-size photos and video of the '92 being flogged & appreciated on the in action page. Re-did the entire modifications section and added thoughts on more than 25 new items, and added more to the progress status report for the '92 SC.
Just a note - I haven't been making updates to my site very often recently. Just because nothing new shows up in a while doesn't mean I'm piloting my couch. When faced with the decision to spend time working on / enjoying the car, or spend time writing about it, you can probably guess which I'll choose. :)
8/8/04 - The story, photos, and video from the Saturn Performance Club's 2004 Rally are now posted. It was the club's seventh annual rally, and most of this year's activities took place in Michigan.
2/22/04 - Added photos and a writeup from the SPC's Chicago Autoshow weekend.
