The 2000 SPC Rally

Awards Ceremony

Gameworks (24k)Inside (33k)

After a nice dinner on Saturday evening, we headed out to Gameworks in Schaumburg IL for the awards ceremony.  If you're not familiar with Gameworks, it's sort of a huge arcade for grown-ups.  There is an amazing variety of unique video games, driving simulators, table games, virtual-reality games, and even a bar inside.  This place is  -h u g e-.  You can see more information about Gameworks HERE.

Awards (31k)

We got together in one of the meeting rooms for the rally awards ceremony before heading out to play.

Ian picked up a set of Mechanix gloves (which everyone should have, btw).  He was one guys who traveled the longest distance to the rally (he & Tommy are from Canada, eh).

Furthest attendees:  Ian & Tommy (who drove 14 hours each way from Canada)

SPC lugnut award: Carl, who currently owns a Ford Escort

Indy game (39k)Lane (23k)

An Indy game where the cars really tossed you around, and a pic of me in the driver's seat (thanks Jeff).  I do prefer the real thing though.

Trucker deebs (27k)

Deebs in the driver's seat of an 18-wheeler.  It was at that point that we all knew he missed his true calling.

Tapp, Tommy, and David in the middle of some fierce competition.

For the two hours that we spent playing games, most of the time was spent in the driver's seat.

Hmm, imagine that.
