A Ford Lightning was among the competitors.  This was one fast beautiful truck.

Blazer (26k)

This very custom Chevy Blazer (which is actually closer to being a Corvette than a Blazer) had wrecked during last year's One Lap.  Several of us got a chance to talk with the owner, and look at his photos of all the work that went into the vehicle to get it back on the track for this year's event.

Checking out a BMW M3.

The cars ran several laps, using about half of the large oval and a road course which occupied part of the track's infield (you can see a map of the track at the MIS website).

It was great seeing Chris Berube in the yellow yellow coupe gradually closing the distance between himself and a Porsche during his few laps on the track.  And Ken Wasmer was really rippin' in the wagon too, as he outdrove both a naturally-aspirated Volvo wagon, and a turbo Volvo wagon during his session.

To continue the tradition started at last year's One Lap, Bill H applied the required "SPC Racing" decals to the yellow coupe to bring the team luck during the remainder of their events.

The SC1 placed first in the economy class and 22nd overall (beating out 67 other teams!).   The LW300 placed 8th in the mid-priced sedan class and 57th overall.   Congratulations guys!  You can view the complete final standings on the OLOA website.

Don't forget to drop Saturn an E-mail encouraging their future participation in motorsports events, and to show them that there are a lot of enthusiasts use their cars for activities other than buying groceries.
