The Dyno

Early Sunday morning (way too early, in fact), we headed out to TMW Chassis Dyno services in Morris IL.

There's no need for guessing or estimating power differences after making modifications to the car.  Putting cars on the dyno provides real horsepower and torque numbers.  You can read more about what a dyno is and how it works HERE

Bryce (29k)
Wow, check out that paint.

The motor in Bryce's 94 SC2 is stock except for the '92 OEM header.  Bryce did a back-to-back test of his car with the stock airbox, and with the Hotshot Powerstack intake.  With the Powerstack, he picked up 9 horsepower which was the best we've measured from it so far.

Wally recently purchased a used turbo Miata to replace his '99 SC2.  Now that's an upgrade that'll surely be enjoyed. Click the link below for some video Wally hitting 200hp on the Dyno.

Be sure to turn up your sound, that blow-off valve sure sounds nice.

Mike's engine (37k)

Mike was able to hit the 200 hp mark with his supercharged Ranger (hear it HERE, and check out Mike's website HERE).  Mike is the first club member who hasn't owned a Saturn - he enjoyed the club's track activities enough actually fork over some cash toward the cause.

As our weekend came to a close on Sunday afternoon, we all packed up and headed back home.  It was quite an enjoyable time - the auto show, great meals & conversation, fireworks, tearing apart a motor, Gameworks, and dyno pulls.  And all that in only one weekend.

Interested in joining us for club events in the future?  Take a look at the Saturn Performance Club website for a schedule of future activities, and join the SPC mailing list to know what's going on.
