The Dyno

PCMs (30k)
Alex tested some PCMs of varying years in his '97.

We left the hotel early Sunday morning on our way to TMW Chassis Dyno services in Morris IL.

There's no need for guessing or estimating power differences after making modifications to the car.  Putting cars on the dyno provides real horsepower and torque numbers.  You can read more about what a dyno is and how it works HERE

Deebs strapped down the wife's L300 to see what kind of numbers it would produce.

Bryce & Ben (30k)

Bryce was back to dyno after a recent engine rebuild.  He had decided to drop the cat and run an open header to see what effect it had.

We've got a running tradition at the dyno.  When a car's run is finished, the group yells the horsepower number that it measured.  But during the last Rally, one owner measured 98 horsepower and didn't expect it.  So ever since then, "98!!" is yelled after every run. We don't expect it to make sense to most people viewing this video - but for those who attend our events, it has special meaning.  :)

As our weekend came to a close on Sunday afternoon, we all packed up and headed back home.  It was quite an enjoyable time - the auto show, great meals & conversation, slot car racing, wrenching on the SPC / GF Racing ITA car, and dyno pulls.  And all that in only one weekend.

Interested in joining us for club events in the future?  Take a look at the Saturn Performance Club website for a schedule of future activities, and join the SPC mailing list to know what's going on.
