The 2005 SPC Rally

Deebs conducting the drivers meeting.

Today's lapping event was being held on the track's North Circuit, which is 9 turns and 1.46 miles.  With lots of grass and long run-off areas, it is safe and enjoyable for the first-time driver.  The track map is visible in the photo at the right (click HERE for a larger version).

The morning driver's meeting was held in the tower where Deebs reviewed track rules, flags, and track etiquette for our lapping session.

At the right you can see Gary H and Christena S.  Since Christena's car was set up exclusively for the dragstrip, she enjoyed a relaxing day watching the cars on the track and getting some work done on her car & trailer.

Whoa, I'm not feeling so good.  Thanks for the video Kev.

Kevin K always has his camcorder filming when the car is on the track.  Watching the video after an event is a great way to see where improvement is necessary.

This particular video clip illustrates that well, with a 45 degree spin in one direction, followed by a 405 degree spin in the other.  Wow, that takes talent - most people couldn't do that if they tried!  Click HERE for video (1 mb).

Video requires DIVX 5 codec to play - info/download HERE.  Be sure to turn up your sound.

Gary H has been to quite a few of our club events.  He drives a SL2 every day, but brings his Porsche 968 to drive hard on the track.  We like that.

At the left you can see one of the SCCA racers getting in some practice time in his Spec Racer Ford.
