Dyno Event - 4/29/2006 |
A shot of the crew that took part in the event.
During each restroom visit, we all admired the bottles of nitrous oxide that were sitting in the corner. What? Doesn't your dyno shop keep extra NOS in the john?
It may have been a bad idea to store it there, because somebody came up with a bright
idea... |

Phil B had just finished a run with his fire-breathing Neon. Fernando grabbed a bottle of naws and positioned himself in front of Phil's car for the next run. |
A ten-second wide-open shot to the intercooler during the dyno run resulted in an extra 40 ft lbs of torque compared to the previous run. WOW - all that from the air temperature reduction alone.
Phil's best run of the day was good for 337
horsepower and 361 ft lbs of torque. |

With a Yamaha V8 under the hood, Paul N's 1998 Taurus has an exhaust note so beautiful that it will bring a tear to your eye. Click HERE for video of one of one of Paul's runs (1.2 mb). Video requires DIVX 5 codec to play - info/download HERE. Be sure to turn up your sound.

Not only did it sound great, but Paul's Taurus also had killer looks under the hood. |

As the day wound down, everyone was content in the knowledge that they gained. People may not always see numbers that meet their expectations. But in taking the time to objectively measure the performance of the vehicle, they now know exactly how the car is performing. The Saturn Performance
Club would like to thank the members of the
Chicagoland SRT Club, the
local Taurus Club, and members of
Redline Forums.com for joining us. It was great to meet everyone,
talk shop, and get a close look at some unique rides. Interested in joining us for club events
like this in the
future? Take a look at the Saturn
Performance Club website for a schedule of upcoming activities, and join the
SPC mailing list to know
