The Rock of Cashel in County Tipperary was the most impressive castle I'd seen during our trip. Interior furnishings, the wooden timber cieling, and the cemetary & grave markers were preserved in great detail. The castle grounds also provided a great view of the countryside and the town of Cashel. This fortress that was once used for defense had been given to the church in the 1100s. Some of the grave markers were from very recent years, despite their very old appearance.
