The rear cover of the oil pump assembly is visible in the bottom of the timing
chain cover.
A closer view shows the oil pump cover & assembly. Oil pump end-to-end
clearance measured within factory tolerances.
After removing the oil pump cover, the pump rotors are visible. Oil pump body
clearance and rotor tip clearance measured within factory tolerances as well.
The sides of the pump rotors had some pretty deep scratches.
The outside of the outer rotor was pretty scratched up also.
The inside of the inner rotor shows some gouging. It definitely looks like
some metal pieces went through here.
A bottom view of the head removed from the block. The head bolts sure are
tight, and a long breaker bar was required. The valves and combustion chambers were
pretty black and had a lot of deposits on them.
The valves & combustion chamber in cylinder #4. NOTE: Ignore
the shiny layer of oil - the motor has been upside-down & right-side up repeatedly on
the stand with oil leaking everywhere.
