Blue Man (34k)

We headed down to Briar Street Theatre in Downtown Chicago on Saturday evening to see Blue Man Group.  Performance art, incredible music & sound, unique physical comedy, and some phenomenal audience participation made this an experience to remember.

Blue Man Group are the guys who can currently be seen in Intel commercials (see the commercial HERE).  Visit their website to see what they're all about, check out their CD, and read some reviews of their performances.  If you ever have a chance to visit their show, it has to be seen to be believed.

We also took an evening drive down Wacker Drive through downtown Chicago and parked next to the river.  The buildings in the area were all lit up and the reflection off the water was very colorful.  But we hadn't come here to admire the river on this cold winter night.  It appeared that Deebs had some sort of surprise in store for the group.

Fireworks (26k)

A few minutes passed, and we were surprised with a good-sized fireworks display.   Fireworks downtown, between all of these buildings?  And in the middle of winter?  Apparently, the city does this often to help draw visitors and shoppers to the downtown area.

As our weekend came to a close on Sunday morning, we all packed up and headed back home.  It was quite an enjoyable time - the auto show, great meals & conversation, fireworks, Blue Man Group, and dyno pulls.  And all that in only one weekend.
