The 2004 SPC Rally |
Scott D and Matt B facing off.

Both Eric W and Michael L brought their forced induction SC2s; Eric's with a Roots-type supercharger, and Michael's with a turbo. Both were ripping off some impressive times. Jeff P from CT had just bought a nearly-new SC2 with an Expressions series body kit and a whole bunch of other goodies. What's one of the first things he does with the car? Drive it thousands of miles across the country to just wail on it on the track with a group of his closest friends. |
|
Doug's DOHC SL1. The track was
unbelievably
smooth - look at the wheel reflections in the dry pavement.

We got in several hours of test & tune before the light rain started. There would be no bracket eliminations for us today, but Kevin thought he'd take one last run before we packed it in. We painted the number 98 on his head and set him loose. The timing equipment picked up a reaction time of .534, although Kevin received a DNF for not making it to the end of the quarter. |
|
Even without the bracket eliminations, many of us were able to run between
20 and 30 times during the test & tune time. For $35, that was in
incredible deal.
We got on our way to nearby Grand Rapids MI to check into our hotel for the evening. |
