The 2005 SPC Rally |
Above you can see crew member Kevin K holding up the board during the race, letting Chris know the time of his previous lap. It's nice to see that
the workers and race officials are enjoying themselves also. |

Ok, you have to admit - that's pretty cool.
Here's a rotary Mazda that's not only loud as hell, he's got fire to go
along with it. I believe that Beavis said it
best... |

Chris B drives the SPC's #50 SC2 to a first place finish! Congratulations on an outstanding win! |
Here's Kevin in the car holding the checkered flag for the victory lap. With no passenger seat and one of the roll cage bars where it would normally be, it's not a very comfortable place to sit.
Somehow, we doubt that Kevin even noticed. |

After the adrenalin wore off (for both Chris and for us as spectators, yelling, screaming, and cheering him on), the car was again given a once-over. Brakes are inspected, torque settings are checked on a variety of parts, fluids are verified, and attention is given to parts of the car that the average driver doesn't even know are there. This is racing, and it will show you very quickly what areas need attention because odds are that those parts will break while on the track. So the crew must pay a lot of attention to detail as they attend to the car. |

When the crew was satisfied that the car was in tip-top shape, it was time for celebration. We left the track in order to find a Cold Stone Creamery and have some ice cream. It was a great way to end our second day on this track - but we still had one more to go. Back to the hotel for a good night's sleep. |
