The first order of business on Thursday, July 28, was to make our way to TMW Dyno Research in Yorkville IL.

The club has hundreds of dyno runs logged on Tom's dyno over the years, but this is the first time we've visited him at his new location in Yorkville.

As parts are added to a vehicle, the dyno is the only accurate way to measure their affect on horsepower and torque.  It's great to have unbiased results, and it sure beats guesses or speculation any day.

Jared A brought his Ford Focus SVT to see how much power it puts to the ground.  It's got a 6-speed transmission, beautiful interior, and some trick engineering built into the motor - all from the factory.

Steve had dynoed his Ion Red Line before when it was completely stock.  Today he was looking to see what kind of effect the recent addition of a K&N intake had.  Steve's Red Line hit 232 hp & 198 ft lbs. of torque at the wheels.

Click HERE for video of one of one of Steve's runs (1.4 mb).  The sound of that supercharger never gets old.

Video requires DIVX 5 codec to play - info/download HERE.  Be sure to turn up your sound.
