The Dyno

TMW dyno services in Joliet IL is one of our favorite places to visit whenever we're in the Chicago area.  Their shop has seen hundreds of runs by many a Saturn strapped down to their dyno.

It was Friday (May 18) and this was the day where each car would get strapped to the dyno to see actual torque and horsepower numbers.

You can speculate or guess all you want when it comes to how changes to the vehicle affect its power output.  But the dyno will always tell you the truth.

Tim N had just installed a Stage 2 kit on his Ion Red Line and was looking to know for some hard numbers on its performance gain.

We normally expect to see club member Jarod A driving his SVT Focus, which is no stranger to TMW's dyno.  But due to a recent fender-bender, he brought his backup car - a Taurus SHO.  Pretty nice combo there in your garage, Jarod!

As the cars rolled through and we finished up at the dyno shop, it was off to club prez John L's house (often referred to as the SPC Headquarters or the Deebs Compound).
