Wally & Tapp on a mountain road.
We drove the Ring of Kerry, which was a long scenic drive through the mountains with some great views of the ocean. There we would also drive through Conor Pass - the highest driveable mountain pass in Ireland.

The road often had no shoulder and was seldom wider than one lane. Stone fences and a long way down often provided a white-knuckled ride. Is it something genetic that makes people like us get the urge to just barrel down roads like this?

We found ourselves having to navigate around a roaming sheep or two, as there weren't many fences in this area. The sheep were often quite colorful. Farmers use a colored dye to tell who owns the sheep since they roam free in many areas.

During our drive,
we stopped to visit Dingle Ocean World as well. I watched huge fish swim around me
as I walked through a plexiglass walkway under one of the tanks. Unfortunately, we
were not able to see them feed the sharks during the time we were there. Most of our evening meals were eaten at local pubs,
and we overnighted at bed & breakfasts (of which there were MANY and they were
surprisingly inexpensive). We could not get over the fact that many of the bed &
breakfasts, pubs, stores, and restaraunts seemed to heat their buildings to only 55 - 60
degrees F during these cool winter months. Brrr. Links of Interest:
