Sunroof

Holy crap, the sunroof sure is heavy - 28 lbs.  It does come out easily though.  The roof panel skin will later be replaced with one from a non-sunroof coupe.

Easier access

With no side windows or sunroof (or interior), the wind now causes a low-frequency resonance inside the car that's damn loud (an effect much like blowing over the open mouth of a bottle).

Front wiringBody wiring

Wiring that can now be removed includes rear defogger, backup lights, trunk light, license plate lamps, speakers, door locks, windows, mouse belts, park brake sensor, door pinswitches, etc.  I'll weigh it later when it's all done.

Splash shields

Removed the front wheel splash shields, good for 3 lbs.

Trunk lids

I'm replacing the DOHC trunk lid trim panel with one for a SOHC - mainly for appearance.  But it also saves 3 lbs. (unpainted panel is shown in picture)

Battery box

Out comes the battery box.  It's only a pound, but it all adds up.

Trim brackets

Removal of all the now-unused interior trim brackets was completed.  Add 2 more lbs. to the total.

Cruise control

Cruise control is no longer needed, removing 2 lbs.

Front fascias

I'll be switching to a 95 front fascia for better airflow (and looks).  The 95 is 3 lbs lighter.  (unpainted panel is shown in picture)

Radiator trim

The plastic air dam pieces around the radiator as well as the lower fascia supports were removed.  Another 7 lbs bites the dust.
